COLLECTION MASIFICATION SIP

In 2016, the Chilean Hockey Federation (FEHOCH) signed an agreement with the Primary Instruction Society (SIP), which allowed the implementation of field hockey workshops in five vulnerable schools in Santiago. The project had a great reception: parents, students and school communities were actively involved, with workshops aimed at courses from 1 to 4 basic.

The success of the first year boosted its expansion. In 2017, the program was extended to ten schools, offering free workshops that brought together more than 30 students for training. In the same year, the children involved for the first time held official tournaments organized by FEHOCH, living the experience of competing on an official court with clubs in Santiago and other regions of the country.

In 2018, three new schools joined, reaching a total of 13 establishments. In many of them, the hockey workshop was consolidated as one of the most relevant activities of the extracurricular program. By 2019, the project maintained its coverage in 13 schools, but expanded its scope: the classes now included students from 1st to 6th basic. Thanks to this growth, more than 500 boys and girls practiced grass hockey on a regular basis in their schools.

This project represents a key step towards bringing sport closer to school communities and strengthening the comprehensive training of its students, reaffirming FEHOCH's commitment to developing hockey at the national level.
