With much joy and excitement we celebrate the triumph of our 5-hockey Diablites in Rosario, who on Saturday May 7, were imposed 0-2 to Paraguay and awarded the bronze medal of the 2022 edition of the South American Youth Games.
This year one of the particularities of these youth games was the inclusion of hockey 5 for the first time in the history of this continental event.
Our Diablitas, led by Francisca Flores, had a tremendous participation, winning three important matches to finally get to take over the bronze presea.
In the first and second place, Argentina and Uruguay were located, respectively.
"It was an amazing tournament, where we acquired a lot of experience. There are many emotions together and it is very nice to be able to represent Chile as such," said Ignacia Orellana, who in the last match for the bronze medal was in charge of opening the scoreboard for the national whole.
"It was a good game where we went out for victory. We may not have been so effective, but we could realize goals, we were given the result and that's what's important," He ended up saying.
In Rosario, the girls played a total of 5 matches: two on Thursday, two on Friday and one today, which was the definition for the medal, under the format of hockey 5, one that still does not have so much popularity, but that will certainly be put in everyone's retina from now on.
"Hockey 5 is a sport adapted to what we're all used to, it's my first experience in this format. I like it pretty much because it's very dynamic and what I like most is that our 17- 18-year-old players are having an international experience and it's something that I particularly would have liked to have at that age. It will help us a lot to develop hockey in our country," Francisca Flores, member of the technical body of the Diablitas Jr.

In this way, Chile continues to give what to talk about in a year that has been fantastic and historic for hockey and for the sport in general of our country.
On the part of the Board and of all the administrative team that forms the Chilean Hockey Federation on Cesped, we would like to extend our congratulations to all the players and technical body that represented us in Rosario. They're our pride!
