The female and male selections received the Merit Sports Award, while the Head Coach of the Diablas was chosen the Best Coach of the Year. In turn, Claudia Schuler and Juan Ignacio Amoroso were voted the most prominent exponents of our sport during 2022.
It was a historic year for the Hockey Cesped and was thus manifested at the El Mejor de los Mejores 2022 ceremony of the Circle of Sports Journalists, where it obtained well-deserved distinctions for its results at both the female and male levels.
The Diablas and Shit. They jointly won the Merit Sports Award (in conjunction with the Chilean Rugby XV selection) for their respective world rankings and medals at the Odour Games.
For the President of the Federation, Andrés de Witt, long-term work is being recognized. "It has indeed been a dream year at both Diablas and Shit.. The Hockey has made a big leap, "he said.
"The challenge is to be able to stay at that level. We are very excited about what is coming, but I think we must recognize and reward the effort and achievements we have achieved," he added.
"CAHITO," YEAR ENVIRONMENT
The Hockey Cesped party continued with the award of the Head Coach of the Diablas, Sergio Vigil, as the best coach of Chilean sport in 2022 (in conjunction with the technical director of the Chilean Rugby XV team, Pablo Lemoine).
"Cachito" valued the results of the male and female selections for having "classified the world's and having had an unforgettable South American," beyond its function is to train the Diablas.
"I have to represent the entire Hockey family, which is made up of clubs, the Federation, players, players and staff. I thank the people who allow me to be here, the Diablas and the staff who accompany them, because we are a team where we learn from each other and represent a bigger dream that is from all the Hockey," he said.
"I just want to thank you for being part of this family and the Sports Journalists Circle for having awarded us... I come to receive the award on behalf of the male and female selected," he added.
Like every year, Chilean sports journalists chose the best exponents of each sport at the national level. And in the case of Hockey Cesped, Claudia Schuler and Juan Ignacio Amoroso were the decorated ones.
"I wasn't expecting the prize, but I'm very happy. It was a historic year for hockey. Classifying the world's was spectacular, he speaks very well of the work being done at the Federation level and of collective sport in Chile, with a view to the Pan American Games (Santiago 2023); and I hope we will continue to classify the world's and, why not, also the Oympic Games," Schuler said.
