Gissele Toro won a prestigious prize in sport management

The National Selections Manager of FEHOCH was left with an important distinction from the FIFA / CIES International Programme.

The national grass hockey is proud to announce a tremendous news, both for our sport and in our own discipline. All thanks to Gissele Toro Santibáñez, Manager of the National Selections in the Federation of Chilean Hockey Cesped, who took the prestigious Prize of the International University Network FIFA / CIES 2023.

That is not the only winner, since together with three professionals from the University of Santo Tomás (Gastón Ibáñez Rojas, Joaquín Cárdenas Kaechele and Sebastián Alvear Alfaro) they took the distinction after competing with 14 other sustainable projects.

Why did they decide on this initiative? Mainly because of the progress it has made in recent years, as well as its originality and adaptation to local needs. It should be noted that the project seeks to create a foundation that recycles surgical masks, used during the health crisis (COVID), to create sports surfaces. Combining technological innovation, local adaptation, financial planning and market research, this work is in line with the winning projects, which ended up influencing the final decision of the jury members.

In that connection, Gissele Toro stressed the importance of this idea he proposed with his working group, in order to continue in the line of sustainability in national and international sport. As well as its commitment to all issues related to the subject.

Finally, Pierre Lanfranchi, scientific coordinator of the FIFA / CIES International University Network, added that "this award offers a healthy emulation among the various associated universities. This year we have been able to appreciate the quality of projects aimed at promoting integration through sport. In fact, whether in Egypt with orphans, in the stages of CONMEBOL, to improve the representation of women or of the new generations, we can only rejoice at the success of this competition."
