To the sport community in Chile, the media and the general public:

During the last few hours, the selected national Hockey U21, the Junior Diablas, have bravely denounced a situation in the World Championship of the category that takes place in our country.

As President of the Federation, I want to reaffirm that everything reported by the players It's totally true.

More than two years ago, our country was appointed to the Junior World Cup. Since then, we have worked tirelessly to have a new global standard event in Chile.

Fifteen months ago, the competitions were held at Claudia Schüler Stadium, located in the National Stadium Park. We even got the FIH to authorize the final one Saturday, anticipating a possible electoral ballotage in our country. Everything was duly informed to the stadium administrator, the IND and the Ministry of Sport.

Unfortunately, at the last coordination meetings we learned that a Rock and Metal Festival (which was scheduled at the Monumental Stadium) would be held on the ground adjacent to the hockey courts. The worst? It matches day and time with the end of the World Cup.

The decision of the administration is incomprehensible. First, because it undermines our event: loss of player concentration; alteration of circulation flows; security of players; and even damage international transmission, which reaches more than 100 countries. Second, because it shows an alarming disinterest in the main "turn" of the park: sport.

We know that the lease decision was made when our Championship was already in development, which we find more serious and disrespectful.

While we have evaluated the final instances at 9 AM on Saturday, December 13, I reaffirm that this Federation urges the park administration, and the government, to respect the schedule scheduled months ago for the final: 20: 15 hrs.

It should be noted that this whole situation has already caused significant reputational damage to our Federation and to our country, in the eyes of international sports organizations.
